Why Our Scaleable Team Model Works Better for Growing Businesses

Flexible Marketing Specialists

When you’re working with a marketing agency, you want to know you’re getting the right people for the job – not just whoever happens to be available that week. That’s exactly why we’ve built Bite Marketing the way we have. Instead of hiring a one-size-fits-all team, we work with specialists who bring exactly what each project needs. Meet Beth: Our Content Creator We’re thrilled to introduce Beth, who’s joined us as our content creator. After 9 years in teaching and welcoming her daughter into the world, Beth made the leap into the family business (yes, she’s Phil’s daughter and Sam’s sister!). Beth brings something that’s increasingly rare in the marketing world – she combines genuine understanding of how people actually use social media with specialist training in content marketing and design. That combination means she creates content that’s both strategically sound and engaging. She knows what makes people stop scrolling, what drives interaction, and what builds real connections with local businesses. Her background in teaching also gives her a unique perspective on creating content that educates and engages rather than just broadcasts messages. Why a Specialist-Led Approach Actually Works Marketing has become incredibly specialised. The person who’s brilliant at SEO strategy might not be the best choice for writing social media content. The expert in manufacturing sector marketing brings different insights than someone who specialises in hospitality. Bite Marketing is led by Sam and Phil, but we’re supported by a wider team of marketing specialists. We bring in the right people for each job – whether that’s specialists in particular marketing channels or experts with deep knowledge of specific industries. This means: You get genuine expertise – When we’re working on your social media strategy, you’re getting Beth’s specialist knowledge. When we’re developing your website, you’re getting Phil’s hands-on approach and technical expertise. When we’re building your overall marketing strategy, you’re getting Sam’s 10+ years of B2B experience. We can scale with your needs – If your business suddenly needs more content creation, we’ve got the capacity to deliver it. If you need specialist knowledge in a particular area, we can bring that in without you having to wait months or compromise on quality. You’re not paying for downtime – With a traditional in-house marketing team, you’re paying salaries whether there’s enough work to fill everyone’s time or not. With our model, you get the expertise when you need it, without carrying the overhead of a full-time team. You always get the best fit – Rather than making do with whoever’s available, you get the specialist who’s right for your specific challenge. Is This Approach Right for Your Business? This model works brilliantly for ambitious businesses that want: Strategic guidance from experienced marketing directors Specialist expertise without the cost of multiple full-time hires Flexibility to scale their marketing up or down as needed A personal relationship with people who genuinely care about their success It’s particularly effective for owner-managed businesses with turnover of £1 million or more who are ready to take their marketing seriously but don’t want the complexity of managing multiple agencies or the cost of building an entire in-house team. Getting Started If you’re curious about how this approach might work for your business, let’s have a chat. We’ll talk about where you’re trying to get to, what’s standing in your way, and whether we’re the right fit to help you get there. No hard sell, no jargon – just a straightforward conversation about your business and how we might be able to help. Get in touch with us today.

We’ve had a brilliant few months at Bite Marketing, welcoming some fantastic new clients. It’s always exciting to start working with ambitious businesses who are ready to take their marketing to the next level, and these latest partnerships are particularly varied. Here’s what we’ve been up to… Camfil UK: Supporting Global Leaders in Clean Air Solutions We’re proud to announce that we’re now working with Camfil, the global leader in clean air solutions, to support their UK marketing efforts. Camfil’s expertise in air filtration and clean air technology is world-class, and we’re excited to help them increase their digital presence here in the UK. Working closely with their team, we’ll be supporting them with strategic marketing that showcases their innovative solutions and connects them with the right audience. It’s always rewarding to work with businesses who are genuinely making a difference, and Camfil’s commitment to cleaner air and healthier environments is exactly that. We’re looking forward to being part of their UK growth story. The Hamlet Geneva: Launching a New Website for Luxury Accommodation We’re excited to be working with The Hamlet, a luxury accommodation provider in the heart of Geneva. As they gear up for their next phase of growth, we’ll be supporting them with a brand new website that truly reflects the quality and uniqueness of what they offer. The goal is simple: help them reach the right audience and showcase what makes their accommodation so special in one of Europe’s most sophisticated cities. Keep your eyes peeled for more updates as this project develops! Technica: Building a Brand That Reflects Their Ambition We’re also looking forward to working with Technica, an independent engineering consultancy specialising in major projects for UK gas networks, on comprehensive brand development that positions them properly in their market. Great branding isn’t just about looking good – it’s about creating clarity around who you are, what you do, and why it matters. That’s exactly what we’re helping Technica achieve. From strategic positioning to visual identity, we’re working together to build a brand that reflects their expertise and ambition. We’re excited to get stuck into what makes their business tick and translate that into something that resonates with their ideal clients. What connects all these projects? These three clients might be in completely different industries – from international manufacturing to luxury hospitality to engineering – but they all share something important: they’re ambitious businesses who understand that strategic marketing is essential for growth. That’s exactly the type of business we love working with at Bite Marketing. Want to chat about how we could support your business? Get in touch – we’d love to hear what you’re working on.

Why Trying to Market to Everyone Means You’re Reaching No One

Targeted Marketing Services Lancashire

If your marketing feels like shouting into the void, there’s probably a simple reason: you’re trying to talk to everyone. We see this pattern a lot with ambitious business owners. They’re brilliant at what they do, they’ve built successful businesses, but when it comes to marketing, there’s a nagging fear. “If I’m too specific, won’t I miss out on potential customers?” It’s a natural worry. But trying to appeal to everyone is precisely why your marketing isn’t working. What Happens When You Market to Everyone When you cast your net as wide as possible, hoping to catch anyone who might be interested, several things happen: Your message gets watered down. To avoid alienating anyone, you end up saying nothing particularly meaningful to anyone. Your marketing becomes a collection of generic statements that could apply to any business in your sector. Nobody feels like you’re talking directly to them. When someone visits your website or sees your social media content, they’re asking themselves one fundamental question: “Can these people help me?” If your marketing is too broad, the answer is always maybe – and maybe isn’t enough to turn a visitor into a customer. You blend in with every other business. Look at your competitors’ websites. If you’re marketing to everyone, chances are your messaging sounds remarkably similar to theirs. There’s nothing to differentiate you, nothing that makes you the obvious choice. Your marketing budget works twice as hard for half the results. Every pound you spend on marketing is being stretched across a massive, ill-defined audience. You’re paying to reach people who will never become customers whilst missing the opportunity to deeply connect with those who would. Why Specificity Works The businesses with marketing that genuinely works have something in common: they know exactly who they’re talking to. They don’t just know demographic details – though that’s part of it. They understand their ideal client’s problems, frustrations, and goals. They know what keeps them up at night and what success looks like for them. They speak their language, share their values, and show up where their audience actually is. When you’re this clear about who you serve, your marketing becomes easier to create and significantly more effective. You know exactly what problems to address in your content. You understand which benefits matter most. You can create case studies that resonate because they’re about businesses just like your ideal client. Every marketing decision becomes clearer because you’re making it for a specific person, not a vague “anyone who might need our services.” The Real Cost of Broad Marketing We’ve worked with dozens of businesses over the past decade, and we’ve seen the pattern repeatedly. Before partnering with us, they were trying to do their own marketing, spreading their message as widely as possible, hoping something would stick. As a result, they were exhausted, frustrated, and not seeing the growth they knew was possible. They were spending money on marketing that wasn’t delivering results, wasting time on content that no one engaged with, and constantly second-guessing their approach. The turning point always comes when they commit to focus. When they stop trying to be everything to everyone and start being the perfect solution for someone specific. That’s when their marketing budget starts working properly. That’s when enquiries start coming from the right type of businesses. That’s when marketing stops feeling like an expensive gamble and starts feeling like a genuine investment in growth. Getting Clear on Your Audience If you’re reading this and recognising yourself in the “marketing to everyone” trap, the good news is that it’s entirely fixable. The starting point is getting brutally clear about who you actually want to work with. Not who you could work with. Not who might possibly have a budget. But who you genuinely want to serve – the businesses where you do your best work, where you can make the biggest difference, and where the relationship is genuinely enjoyable. Once you’re clear on that, your marketing strategy can be built around attracting more of those ideal clients. Your messaging becomes sharper. Your content becomes more relevant. Your brand positioning becomes distinctive. And the right people start finding you. Ready to Stop Shouting Into the Void? At Bite Marketing, we specialise in helping ambitious businesses break through their growth ceiling. We work with a select number of clients each year – businesses who are ready to take their marketing seriously and understand that focus is the key to results. If you’re tired of marketing that isn’t working, if you’re ready to stop trying to appeal to everyone and start genuinely connecting with your ideal clients, let’s have a conversation. Get in touch today to discuss whether we might be the right marketing partner for your business.

Local Young People: Lancashire Youth Challenge’s Caledonian Triathlon

Supporting Lancashire Youth Challenge

We were proud to sponsor the Lancashire Youth Challenge’s Caledonian Triathlon. In August 2025, ten young people from our local area took on an eight-day adventure across the Scottish Highlands. We’re talking 65 miles of cycling, 100 kilometres of canoeing through Loch Ness, and a hike up Ben Nevis (the UK’s highest peak, in case you needed reminding). Building confidence and resilience This wasn’t just about ticking off an impressive physical challenge – though it certainly was that. It was about giving young people from Lancashire and Morecambe the chance to push themselves beyond what they thought possible. Lancashire Youth Challenge, working with Stanleys Community Centre in Morecambe, has been creating these transformative experiences for young people for a decade now. The Caledonian Triathlon marked their 10th anniversary, and it’s a brilliant example of what they do best: helping young people build confidence, resilience, and self-belief through outdoor challenges. Months of hard work You can’t just turn up to something like this unprepared. These young people trained hard: Weekly core fitness and team-building sessions at BayFit Three days of cycle training with Go Velo Canoeing and ghyll scrambling in Coniston with BigAdventure That level of commitment and dedication was impressive in itself! Supporting our community At Bite Marketing, we’ve always believed in supporting what makes our local area brilliant. We’re based in Lancashire, we work with businesses here, and we care about the communities we’re part of. When we heard about what Lancashire Youth Challenge was doing – giving local young people opportunities they might never have otherwise – we knew we wanted to help out. Lancashire Youth Challenge is a dynamic charity that runs year-round programmes in personal development, creative arts, community projects, and cultural education. Their work genuinely changes lives, building confidence and resilience in young people who need it most. We were proud to play a small part in making this expedition happen. Want to learn more about Lancashire Youth Challenge? Visit their website or check out the documentary from their 2022 Morecambe Bay Youth Triathlon to see the impact these challenges have on young people. Looking for a marketing partner who cares about the local community? That’s us. Get in touch to find out how we can help your business grow.

Five Essential Truths About Rebranding (That Nobody Tells You)

Five essential truths about rebranding

Rebranding can feel overwhelming. Between contradictory advice, industry jargon, and seemingly endless frameworks, it’s easy to feel like you’re winging it. But what if some of the most widely accepted branding wisdom is actually holding you back? Here are five essential truths that could transform how you approach your rebrand. Always Begin with Assessment, Not Strategy It’s tempting to jump straight into creating your brand strategy. It feels like the logical starting point. But you can’t create an effective strategy without first understanding what’s actually going on with your brand right now. Start by asking yourself these critical questions: Do your potential customers even know your business exists? When they see your brand, do they understand what you offer? Would they genuinely consider buying from you? Can your team articulate what makes your brand different? Do your colleagues know how to make decisions that align with your brand? Understanding your brand’s current reality tells you exactly what you’re working with. What’s already strong? What’s not quite pulling its weight? What’s missing altogether? Skip this step and you risk changing things that are actually working whilst missing the real problems entirely. Our advice: Invest time in understanding your brand’s current strengths and weaknesses through data and honest assessment before you change a single thing. Take Control of Your Brand Strategy (Don’t Outsource Your Thinking) Brand strategists have created an entire industry around complex frameworks and jargon. Brand pyramids, positioning statements, purpose statements – it’s enough to make anyone’s head spin. We’ve learned that this complexity often serves the agencies more than it serves you. The reality is that brand strategy doesn’t need to be complicated. Your leadership team understands business strategy as answers to straightforward questions: Where are we going? What markets do we serve? What are our priorities? Brand strategy works exactly the same way: Why do we exist? What do we do? Who are we as an organisation? How do we do things? How do we look, feel, and sound? When you strip away the jargon and think in plain language, brand strategy becomes something you can engage your entire organisation with. And that’s when it becomes truly valuable – not just as a marketing tool, but as a driver of business growth. Our advice: Don’t abdicate your brand thinking to external experts. Use their expertise where it adds value, but own the strategy yourself. Your intimate knowledge of your business and customers makes you best placed to lead this work. Engage Your Employees as Much as Your Customers We often hear businesses say “customers come first” – and whilst customer focus is obviously important, there’s a critical piece that’s frequently overlooked: your employees. Think of it this way: everything your business does contributes to your brand. Every phone call, every email response, every product delivery, every interaction. Your brand isn’t just what you say in your marketing – it’s what people experience when they interact with your business. That means your colleagues are actually your greatest asset in building brand value. If they don’t understand your brand, how can they deliver it? If their day-to-day experience contradicts what you’re telling customers, why would they believe in it? This is where partnering with HR becomes essential. You’re not just creating marketing campaigns – you’re shaping organisational culture. Focus on three key areas: Get the fundamentals right – Make sure the basics work (phones get answered, website information is accurate, contact forms work) Remove contradictions – If your brand promises simplicity but your product is fiddly to use, that’s a problem Create remarkable moments – Design experiences that genuinely differentiate you and create positive memories Our advice: Think of yourself as a conductor, not a micromanager. Give your colleagues the understanding and tools they need to make on-brand decisions in their everyday work, then trust them to deliver. Your Visual Assets Are Just as Important as Your Brand Positioning There’s been a pendulum swing in marketing where people say “a brand is not a logo” so often that the visual aspects of branding have become undervalued. Your visual assets aren’t just part of your brand – they’re what make your brand recognisable in the first place. They’re not less important than your positioning – they’re what triggers those associations in people’s minds. Think about the brands you recognise instantly. Often it’s a colour combination, a distinctive typeface, a particular style of photography, or a logo shape that catches your eye before you’ve even read a word. Those visual cues are doing the heavy lifting. Your logo, colours, typography, and other distinctive assets matter enormously because: They help people notice and recognise you They trigger the brand associations you’ve worked hard to build They create cohesion across all your marketing They’re often the first thing people see The problem we see is businesses throwing out perfectly good brand assets simply because the marketing team has become bored with them. But your customers might only see your brand for a few seconds each month – they’re not bored. They’re barely familiar. Our advice: Before you change your visual identity, assess whether it’s actually the problem. Familiarity breeds trust in branding. Guard your distinctive assets carefully, and only change them when there’s a genuine strategic reason to do so. Aim for Cohesion, Not Rigid Consistency Brand guidelines. The thick document. The rules about logo placement. The approved colour combinations. The “do this, never do that” mentality. Honestly, we think most brand guidelines do more harm than good. Why? Because they prioritise control over effectiveness. They turn creative professionals into paint-by-numbers robots. They stifle the very creativity that makes brands memorable. Here’s a better approach: Create a clear framework that shows how your brand elements work together, rather than a rigid rulebook. Document your core visual assets clearly – which elements are essential and which are flexible. Then, instead of detailed restrictions, build a library of strong examples showing how your brand works brilliantly across different contexts: Social media posts that get attention … Read more

Heysham Viking Festival: Nearly a Decade of Community Partnership

Supporting Heysham Viking Festival

For us at Bite Marketing, Heysham Viking Festival has become one of those annual highlights that reminds us why we love being part of this Lancashire community – watching families descend on Heysham to step back in time and experience authentic Viking life. A Partnership Built on Community Spirit We’ve been proud supporters of Heysham Viking Festival since it launched back in 2016. What started as an ambitious idea to celebrate our area’s rich Viking heritage has grown into a massive community event that brings up to 10,000 visitors to this beautiful village each year. We’ve worked alongside the festival organisers on their marketing and web presence, helping spread the word about this brilliant free event that brings Viking history to life. The Story Behind the Festival Heysham Viking Festival is organised by a small team of volunteers who mostly run their own businesses full-time. They donate hundreds of hours of their own free time to planning and executing this event, fitting festival organisation around their day jobs and family commitments. The festival currently requires over £12,000 annually just to stage, and every penny raised goes directly toward making it the incredible experience it’s become. Many of the organisers even dip into their own pockets as sponsors. It’s a proper labour of love, and that’s why we’re so passionate about supporting it. Why Local Matters to Us We believe that strong businesses and strong communities go hand in hand. Supporting events like Heysham Viking Festival isn’t just about giving back – it’s about being part of what makes our local area special. Just like with the Lancashire Youth Challenge, which we’ve also proudly supported, we see these partnerships as investments in our community. When local events thrive, our area thrives. When families have access to brilliant, free experiences, everyone benefits. Looking Ahead: The 10th Anniversary 2026 marks a milestone – the festival’s 10th anniversary. The organisers are already planning to make it the biggest and best celebration yet, and they’re looking for sponsors to help make that vision a reality. If you’re a Lancashire business looking to support something worthwhile, this is your chance to be part of a decade-long success story. More Than Marketing At Bite Marketing, we talk a lot about authentic partnerships and working with businesses we genuinely care about. Our relationship with Heysham Viking Festival embodies that philosophy. We believe in what the festival represents: passionate people working together to create something brilliant for their community, preserving local heritage, and giving families unforgettable experiences. That’s the Lancashire we want to be part of. Get Involved Whether you’re attending as a visitor, considering becoming a sponsor, or just want to spread the word, Heysham Viking Festival needs the community’s support to keep bringing the Viking age to life. And if you’re a local business looking for a marketing partner who cares about this area and its people, you know where to find us.
